Gift Day 2021

As a church we firstly give thanks to God for his generosity to us and the way he has always met our financial needs over many years in various ways.  We also give thanks for the faithful sacrificial voluntary giving of so many within the Body of St Mark’s.  As part of our Generosity series, the details of our 2021 financial needs, as agreed by the PCC, have been shared at the morning services.  Gift Day is an opportunity for you to respond and give specifically for those needs - the new kitchen project and our general running costs. 

For the kitchen we estimate the cost, including fees will be approximately £75,000.  If we use what we have in our Development Fund, what we might be able receive from grants and some funding taken from a legacy we are expecting, there will be around £20,000 shortfall, that we as members of St Mark’s will need to donate to.  Our General Fund, which is used for the running costs of the church, is showing a forecast deficit of around £9,000 this year.  So, a figure of £29,000 is our Gift Day target.

Please prayerfully consider these two needs and you may respond with your donation in any of the following ways:

Card payment in church
If you are attending church in person on Gift Day you may donate by card as you leave the building, including contactless.  You can also access online giving by scanning a QR code which is displayed in church if you wish.

Cash or cheque
We would encourage you to donate in the ways shown above, but if this is not possible you may place your donation by cash or cheque in the Offertory Box at the rear of church as you leave.  Alternatively you may make a cash or cheque donation by putting your gift in an envelope, marked Gift Day, and posting it through the letterbox at the Old Vicarage.
Cheques should be made payable to:  St Mark's Gillingham, PCC.

Should you wish your gift to be designated for a specific purpose, please indicate this or let the Treasurer know.  If not, the donation will be allocated at the discretion of the PCC. 

If you are a visitor or are joining us for the first time in church or online, please do not feel obliged to give. We are pleased you are with us.
